Our research efforts in the Consumer Care division of Bayer are centered around the support of existing brands and the implementation of product-related, clinical and regulatory development strategies. This offers the opportunity to successfully exploit new technologies, to expand existing product indications and to reclassify current prescription medicines as (over-the-counter = OTC) products.
Hence, we look for Consumer Care partnering opportunities in our core OTC categories (cough & cold, analgesics, dermatology, nutritionals and gastrointestinal diseases), but also in plant based medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
We are also interested in adding new brands with significant brand equity to our product portfolio, especially in the Emerging Markets. In these cases we like to acquire the trademarks – acting as a distributor is not of strategic interest to us.
